Winter Open Show in Gallery 1 is an annual exhibition of work chosen from an open submission call. This year they received the largest ever amount of submissions and after a tough election process the work of over 30 artists were chosen.

This year’s selection panel consisted of independent curators who have significant experience in the field of contemporary art; Paul McAree (Director and curator FLOOD), Grace McEvoy (Visual Arts Co-ordinator, Block T), Karen Phillips (RUA RED Executive Director) and Claire McAree (Independent Curator).

Exhibiting artists include: Evan Buggle, Majella Clancy, Edel Cox,  Aidan Crotty, Victoria J. Dean, Michael Dignam, David Fagan, Margot Galvin, Seán Guinan, Olivia  Hassett, James Hayes, Paul Heary, Gus Hughes, Myra Jago, Denis Kelly, Laura  Kelly, Bartosz Kolata, Kirsti Kotilainen, Elaine Leader, Paul Mac Cormaic, Eimearjean  McCormack, Séamus McCormack, Sean Molloy, Jacqueline Nicholson, Eimear  O’Connor, Tadhg O’ Cuirrín, Hilary O’Mahony, Vida Pain, Gavin Porter, Michael  Power, Victoria Smith, Adele Stanley,  Robert  Tucker, Chanelle Walshe.
